A Novel of Plenty, California
As one of the top trauma surgeons in Plenty’s ER, Dr. Taggart Hayes knows how to fix broken things—fractured legs, ruptured spleens, allergies, and traumatic brain injuries. He can put them back together good as new.

A broken heart, though? That’s a bit trickier. Especially when it’s his own.

When Tag swipes on the photo of the hot man in the dating app, he just wants a distraction from the wreck that used to be his life. A one-night stand with a safely inappropriate stranger, no names, no feelings, and no complications.

But the headless photo on the app belongs to a man who isn’t so easy to forget the next day... or the next week. And it becomes increasingly clear that Bass is neither safe nor uncomplicated. Drawn into the dark, criminal underworld his lover inhabits, Tag has to decide if the cure for his broken heart is worse than the disease.

First of all, thank you so much for having me! I’m thrilled to be here with my new contemporary novel SWIPE by TA Moore. In SWIPE Tag Hayes is an ER surgeon who ends up involved with a slightly less upstanding member of society, Nico ‘Bass’ Sebastiani.

Bass rides a motorbike. I have never driven a motorbike. It is a generally accepted truth that my continued well-being--and the well-being of everyone on the streets--depends on me never being in charge of a motorcycle. It’s not that I’m a bad driver. I mean, I’ve driven Rhys Ford’s Firebird, for a very short distance but I have done it. I think I just function better on the road with more safety measures between me and road rash.

So writing a biker is kinda a bit of wish fulfilment for me. So I might have spent longer than entirely necessary researching Bass’s bike since it isn’t really central to the storyline. It was a lot of fun though.

Bass rides a stripped down Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob with mini-ape handlebars and a Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine. That really doesn’t mean that much to me, the important part is that the Dyna Street Bob is a light, fast-riding bike with good maneuverability and is fun to ride. The ergonomics are a little tight for taller riders, but at around six foot Bass doesn’t have a problem with it.

In fact, the Dyno Street Bob is the perfect bike for Bass. He’s someone who values maneuverability and leverage, who doesn’t want to be tied down or slowed down. His need to keep his life free of external complications is reflected in his choice of bike, which is bare bones and simple as he can keep it.

A nice bike, but not a bike that asks a lot. Just the way Bass would describe himself.

As for what’s not under the hood?

Harley’s come in a lot of very nice colours, but Bass keeps his bike painted matte black. He likes a nice bike, but he doesn’t want to draw too much attention. Or be too easy to describe if he does.

It doesn’t hurt that the paintwork is easy to repair if Bass lays the bike down and scrapes up the paintwork. The parts are easy to swap out too if he needs to do that too, since his line of work is sometimes hard on the equipment. To be honest, that’s probably how Bass would describe himself too if it came to that. Someone that could be swapped out without too much trouble.

Tag wouldn’t agree, of course. Not once he’s got to know what’s under the paintwork.

TA Moore -

TA Moore is a Northern Irish writer of romantic suspense, urban fantasy, and contemporary romance novels. A childhood in a rural, seaside town fostered in her a suspicious nature, a love of mystery, and a streak of black humour a mile wide. As her grandmother always said, ‘she’d laugh at a bad thing that one’, mind you, that was the pot calling the kettle black. TA Moore studied History, Irish mythology, English at University, mostly because she has always loved a good story. She has worked as a journalist, a finance manager, and in the arts sectors before she finally gave in to a lifelong desire to write.

Coffee, Doc Marten boots, and good friends are the essential things in life. Spiders, mayo, and heels are to be avoided.
