NOW AVAILABLE!

Thank you, Tyra for hosting me on release day for the third and final book in my GRIM LIFE series. This series tells the tale of Kody, a suicidal college student, struggling with his sexuality and his faith in God. Max is the grim reaper sent to take Kody to heaven when Kody tries to kill himself. Instead Max feels a deep, unexpected connection with Kody and Max saves his life. Now they are both serving as grim reapers, taking souls to heaven.

But dating is tough, especially when you’re dead.

The third and final book in the series, THE LOST SOULS is a story of redemption, trust, and friendship. Max and Kody have recently learned they are a part of a special prophesy that tells or two souls, twin flames, who will bridge the gap between purgatory and heaven. A quick explainer, in my world, when a person dies they become a spirit, and that spirit is met by a reaper who will take them to heaven. Some spirits, however, choose not to go, and they become a shade, wandering in limbo, and that is the real hell. Recently some of the shades have learned to possess recently dead bodies in order to “live” again, and when they do that, they corrupt themselves and become wraiths.

The prophesy about Kody and Max is helping those souls lost in purgatory have a second chance at going to heaven. But they have to find the courage within and together to be able to attempt this dangerous but vital task. As they venture out, reaping souls, they discover their own strength with each crossover, because something big is coming… and one of them might not make it.

In the exclusive excerpt from THE LOST SOULS you can really feel how far Max and Kody have come in their journey.

EXCERPT:

“Do you think Slade will help me with some more shades before he lets us go out again?” Kody mused.

“Actually, he’s sending us out with Kelli as soon as you’re up to it.” I shifted until we were looking at each other. “She had a charge turn into a shade.”

Kody looked stricken. “Poor Kelli! No wonder she’s been so sad.”

I stroked his face until it softened. “I love your tender heart.”

With an amused sniff, Kody pecked the tip of my nose. “That’s all you love?”

“I love how brave you are,” I told him sincerely, hiding a smile. “Among other things.”

“I have a feeling I know what those might be,” he teased. Then he settled back on his pillow, staring up at the ceiling. “Do you think he’ll turn a wraith loose on us after that?”

“I hope not!”

“We’ll have to face them eventually,” Kody reasoned, sounding far calmer than I felt. His hand lazily trailed up and down my back, his expression thoughtful.

I nestled closer, cheek on his chest. “Slade hinted that we’ll probably start seeing wraiths too, not just shades. Said he’d send us on cases at all hours.”

“Yeah, no more easy cases after today,” Kody said, still contemplative. “Well, if we see wraiths, I suppose we should offer them the chance to move on. They’re human too, just on the wrong path.”

“So while they’re swirling above us, all creepy and cold, and looking for human vessels to possess, you plan on just asking them if they want a second chance?” I asked, incredulous. I tried to rein in my worry, knowing now how much my emotions affected him.

Kody shrugged. “Yeah, why not?” Just then, he seemed more confident than I’d ever seen him, and I couldn’t help but be simultaneously proud and worried. “We’ll help the shades and then wait for the wraiths to show up. You’ll protect our charges’ bodies while I ask them if they want to move on. If they say yes, then we’ll need all your strength to keep my emotions protected from theirs so we can help them.”

“If they say no?” I countered, unsure if I agreed with his far-too-logical and way-too-dangerous idea. We’d seen the horrors wraiths were capable of doing!

He flashed a grin, his blue eyes sparkling. “You can blast them to kingdom come, and we’ll get the hell outta there.”

Though I had serious doubts, I laughed at that, the sound rolling the tension off my body. I couldn’t believe we were having this conversation. “That it? You don’t want me to invite them over for a game of Monopoly?”

“No way,” Kody said, very serious all of a sudden. “Monopoly takes way too long to finish a game, and they would overstay their welcome. Interrupt my plans for the evening.”

“And what would those plans be?”

The smile he gave me was an impish one. “I don’t know. Any suggestions?”

“Tickling!” I cried, digging my fingers into his side.

He let out a squeal of laughter and squirmed and writhed beneath me, trying to escape my expert tickling.

He was bigger and stronger than me, and I didn’t really resist when he flipped me onto my back, pinning my hands over my head.

His cheeks were flushed, his hair askew and eyes wide and stern. “No tickling.”

“Okay, no tickling,” I agreed, voice husky from the way he had me pinned, his long lean body stretched over mine. I shifted my leg, never looking away from his face. He raised his leg in answer, repositioning our lower halves so his hips rested in between my thighs.

“It’s going to work out, Max,” he promised, voice soft and low. “You’ll see.”

“Pinky swear?”

Smiling, he released one of my hands and held up his little finger. “Pinky swear.”

I hooked our fingers, gripping hard and never looking away. I wanted to vow, then and there, to do everything to keep Kody safe, but it was both unnecessary and impossible. He already knew the depth of my devotion, and my throat was too tight to speak.

When we uncoiled our fingers, Kody pushed my hand back above my head and I let him. Our breathing synced and his face softened, eyes hooded with desire. His gaze dropped to my lips, and the grip on my wrists pulsed.

I held my breath and raised my chin, delighting in the feel of his heartbeat against my chest, the way he held me secure. A soft breath escaped me the second before our lips met. It was not a wild kiss, no tongue at all. It was soft, and radiated love and kindness.

While I marveled at Kody’s surprising new confidence, my own doubts and fears lingered in the corners of my mind. I forced them away. In this moment, I wanted nothing but to feel the touch of the person I loved more than anything in the world.

More proof Kody could sense and understand my feelings came when he took the kiss deeper, lingering—just like I wanted.

Flashback Friday - The Heart of Texas by @Rjscott_author

The Heart of Texas - RJ Scott
Texas #1
Riley Hayes, the playboy of the Hayes family, is a young man who seems to have it all: money, a career he loves, and his pick of beautiful women. His father, CEO of HayesOil, passes control of the corporation to his two sons; but a stipulation is attached to Riley's portion. Concerned about Riley's lack of maturity, his father requires that Riley 'marry and stay married for one year to someone he loves'. Angered by the requirement, Riley seeks a means of bypassing his father's stipulation. Blackmailing Jack Campbell into marrying him "for love" suits Riley's purpose. There is no mention in his father's documents that the marriage had to be with a woman and Jack Campbell is the son of Riley Senior's arch rival. Win win.

Riley marries Jack and abruptly his entire world is turned inside out. Riley hadn't counted on the fact that Jack Campbell, quiet and unassuming rancher, is a force of nature in his own right.

This is a story of murder, deceit, the struggle for power, lust and love, the sprawling life of a rancher and the whirlwind existence of a playboy. But under and through it all, as Riley learns over the months, this is a tale about family and everything that that word means.

Let's be honest, the covers are what drew me to this series first. DAMN those are some fine men! And being the age that I am, I grew up in the hay day of Dallas, the original not the re-vamped series, and was completely addicted to the drama. Well let me tell you that the Ewings ain't got nothing on the Campbell/Hayes! There is EVERYTHING in this book and if by some accident the author did miss something you can bet it will be in the the next one. I for one LOVED it and couldn't put it down.

Through all the drama and intrigue is a wonderful love story. Jack and Riley couldn't not have started out further apart but when they come together it is all kinds of hotness. A strong secondary cast that added so much depth and heart the story would not have worked as well without them.

Strong, stubborn, sexy cowboys, hot, carnal sex and that is a recipe for success!

This book is one of my favorite of the fake boyfriend/husband trope. And if you like audiobooks, Sean Crisden hits it out of the park!

Bodyguards Bite - @Silvia_Violet

Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be here today to share my upcoming release, Bodyguard’s Bite, and offer a giveaway. It’s the second book in the Howler Brothers series. The Howler family are the most powerful werewolves in their city. They own a BDSM club for shifters and several other legitimate businesses, but most of their wealth and position have been supported by crime for generations. King Howler, the new leader of the family, and his four younger brothers want to change that. They also want to make life safer and easier for shifters, and along the way, they hope to find their fated mates. King’s story, Claiming Bite, is the first in the series, and you can find it here Amazon US | Amazon Global

Or you can jump right into Bodyguard’s Bite. Here’s a little more about it.

Wealthy werewolf Storm Howler wants a chance to act out his submissive fantasies without his overprotective brothers scaring off every dominant man in sight. If he can’t choose his own partners, how will he ever find his fated mate?
As the former leader of a shifter special forces unit, Jax knows how to keep people safe, but he also craves the one thing he never had in the military: control.
When Storm and Jax meet, tension sizzles between them. It only takes one night of control and surrender for each of them to question whether they’re fated for one another. But the next day, they discover Storm’s brothers have hired Jax as Storm’s new bodyguard. Rather than resign, Jax agrees to the hands-off policy in his employment contract, because no one can protect Storm as well as he can. But when danger threatens, Storm needs a man who can calm his mind as easily as he protects Storm’s body. The two begin spending more time together, and there’s only so long anyone can fight against fate—or love.

How about an excerpt?

“Do you like the room?” Storm asked, sounding concerned.

“It’s very nice, just not the kind of place I’d usually stay. All we really need tonight is a bed, though the floor would do, or a wall would make a decent substitute.”

Storm sucked in his breath, and my dick appreciated the sound. “The bed would be more comfortable, but I’m up for any or all of those options.”

I studied him until color rose in his cheeks. “You asked for me to take charge, so I’ll decide where I’m going to have you and how.”

Storm ran his teeth over his lower lip. “I did ask that, didn’t I?”

I prowled toward him, holding his gaze. “You did.”

His hazel eyes widened, and his lips parted with a soft moan. I loved how expressive he was. He made no attempt to hide his desire.

“I like being told what to do, but I don’t surrender easily. My… job has forced me to learn to be more aggressive than I might be naturally.”

It was more than his job. I was sure of that. Something about his life circumstances had caused him to learn to be assertive when he needed to be—not that it was a bad thing. I wanted to know more about Storm, though I knew I should respect his desire for privacy. He obviously had money and privilege. Should I recognize him? Was he someone famous? He’d said he worked at the club, but something had seemed off about that. He’d certainly known his way around. When he’d left me by the emergency door, I’d watched him closely enough to see that he’d gone into the supply room and then an office. Maybe he was friends with the owner, King Howler. He was the man I’d be interviewing with the next day. From what my friend had told me, King was very wealthy and quite powerful. I’d done a cursory search to learn more about him, but he might as well be a ghost for all the concrete information I could find. If I was offered the job, I had a hacker friend who could help me find out more, but I didn’t want to bother him if the situation didn’t feel right.

“I can push past your resistance if that’s what you want. In fact, I’d enjoy it.”

“I’d enjoy it too.”

“Good. What’s your safeword?”

“I’m really boring. I use ‘red’ to stop and ‘yellow’ to slow down.”

I trailed my fingers down his arm. “There’s nothing boring about you.”

He licked his lips. “Thank you.”

I slid my fingers into his hair, loving that his loose curls were as soft as they looked. Then I let my hands slide free and trailed my fingers over his cheek and down his neck, relishing the warmth of his tanned skin. I’d spent most of the weeks since I’d left the army holed up at home. I felt directionless and out of step with everything. Then I’d seen Storm and felt a connection that pulled me to him. It was like I was waking up for the first time in weeks. “Strip for me.”

Storm’s eyes widened.

“Don’t make me wait.”

Series Sunday - Agents Irish & Whiskey by @LaylaReyne @CarinaPress

It's Series Sunday again and I have to tell you about a new to me author I found this year and her series Agents Irish & Whiskey! Layla Reyne writes great characters and her stories are non stop action. Things will explode and people will die and feelings....oh my heck the feelings you will have. These were books that I started in audio, but was so into them I had to get the e-books too so I could read them when I couldn't listen. I have now read everything she has written and I squealed like a school girl when I met her at GRL this year.

Eight months ago Aiden Tallys life changed forever. The car crash that took the life of both his partner, Tom, and his husband, Gabe almost sidelined him for good as well. Now he's back to work with a new partner, and a new case but he can't let go of the accident that was no accident.

Each story has it's own case but there is an over-arching story-line for the series.

I fell in love with these characters and their extended family and friends, so I was thrilled when I realized there was a spin-off with two of the secondary characters!

Single Malt, Layla Reyne
Agents Irish & Whiskey #1
Eight months after the car crash that changed everything, FBI agent Aidan Talley is back at work. New department, new case and a new partner. Smart, athletic and handsome, Jameson Walker is twelve years his junior. Even if Aidan was ready to move on—and he's not—Jamie is off-limits.

Jamie's lusted after Aidan for three years, and the chance to work with San Francisco's top agent directly is too good to pass up. Aidan is prickly—to put it mildly—but a growing cyber threat soon proves Jamie's skills invaluable.

Jamie's talents paint a target on his back, and Aidan is determined to protect him. But with hack after hack threatening a high-security biocontainment facility, time is running out to thwart a deadly terrorist attack. They'll have to filter out distractions, on the case and in their partnership, to identify the real enemy, solve the case and save thousands of lives, including their own.

Cask Strength, Layla Reyne
Agents Irish & Whiskey #2
Professionally, the FBI team of Aidan "Irish" Talley and Jameson "Whiskey" Walker is as good as it gets, closing cases faster than any team at the Bureau. Personally, it’s a different story. Aidan’s feelings for Jamie scare the hell out of him: he won’t risk losing another love no matter how heart-tripping the intimacy between them. And loss is a grim reality with the terrorist Renaud still on their trail, leaving a pile of bodies in his wake.

Going undercover on a new case gets them out of town and off the killer's radar. They're assigned to investigate an identity theft ring involving a college basketball team in Jamie's home state, where Jamie's past makes him perfect for the role of coach. But returning to the court brings more than old memories.

As secrets and shocking betrayals abound, none may be more dangerous than the one Jamie’s been keeping: a secret about the death of Aidan’s husband that could blow his partner's world apart and destroy forever the fragile bonds of trust and love building between them.

Barrel Proof, Layla Reyne
Agents Irish & Whiskey #3
FBI agents Aidan "Irish" Talley and Jameson "Whiskey" Walker can't get a moment's peace. Their hunt for the terrorist Renaud seems to be nearing an end, until a fire allows him to slip through their fingers—and puts Jamie's life in danger. When Jamie is nearly killed, Aidan learns how many forms loss can take.

Aidan says I love you just moments before learning that Jamie's been keeping a devastating secret about Aidan's late husband. How quickly trust and love can go up in flames. When Aidan requests a solo undercover assignment, Jamie hopes Aidan will find a way to forgive him.

But the explosions are far from over. Aidan's cover lands him in the heart of the terrorist's conspiracy, and Jamie will have to put his life, his career and his freedom on the line to save the man who has become his entire world. Partners, always is a promise he intends to keep.

Tequila Sunrise, Layla Reyne
Agents Irish & Whiskey #4
True love perseveres in this Agents Irish and Whiskey spin-off novella from author Layla Reyne

Former FBI agent Melissa “Mel” Cruz spent years skirting the line between life and death, knowing the next assignment might be her last. Back from overseas and eager to enjoy life outside the Bureau, she's ready to give Danny Talley a Christmas Eve he'll never forget.

A proven asset in high stakes missions, Danny's known for having the skill and brains to get the job done. When the Talley Flag Ship is hijacked during the company holiday party, he’ll do anything to save his family, his love, and everything they’ve all worked so hard to build. But their enemies have a secondary protocol—leave no survivors—and that plan is already in play.

Navigating through a tangled web of lies and betrayal, Mel and Danny race against the clock to retake the ship before their future goes up in flames. As the seconds tick down, they're forced to face their greatest fear—losing each other.

Flashback Friday - All Play and No Work Carol Lynne @PridePublishing

All Play and No Work, Carol Lynne
Cattle Valley #1
When a three man partnership becomes too much for their small Texas town, Ryan Blackfeather knows it’s time to head for greener pastures. With a new job awaiting him in Cattle Valley, Wyoming, he convinces his men, Nate and Rio to make the move.

A community built on tolerance, Cattle Valley’s one of the few places in the country where the residents won’t bat an eyelash at the threesomes relationship. Nate, Rio and Ryan fit right in. However, with Ryan busy in his new job as town Sheriff, Rio and Nate are left to wonder how they’re supposed to make a living. What use are a highly trained mercenary and a private detective in a peaceful community the size of Cattle Valley?

If you have not read Carol Lynne, you need to stop what you are doing and go read, not just this series, but everything. This author was one of the first that I read in the M/M genre and her books are still comfort reads for me.

This series is set in Cattle Valley, which is a community that was established for LGBTQ+ people. It's a safe haven for most of it's residents. When the new Sheriff in town rolls up with his two partners no one looks at them twice. Except to admire the eye candy that has moved to town.

Ryan and Rio have been in an established relationship for a while and adding Nate to the mix is still a work in progress. The three men are finding their way in a new town, new jobs and a new relationship. Hang on tight because these men are hot, hot, hot and Lynne wasn't afraid to write them that way!

This throuple plays a part in the rest of the series as secondary characters, but they also get a few more books that are centered around them. There isn't a lot of angst in this first book it's really to set up the rest of the series and give you an idea of the who's and hows of the town. With 33 books in the series there is a little bit of every trope and it will definitely keep you warm in the coming months.

If you would like to read the story of how Ryan, Rio and Nate came to be together please check out the series, Good Time Boys and especially Rawley's Redemption
